Are you interested in becoming a volunteer at the Iowa Genealogical Society? 
We are a volunteer based organization and always welcome assistance.  There are so many projects that need support from our volunteers.  Call our front desk (515-276-0287) or send us an email at igs@iowagenealogy.org.  While no prior experience is required, let us know if you have any area of expertise.

We have many opportunities available for your to support IGS by volunteering
Volunteering your time is a great way to support the Iowa Genealogy Society. Just look at these great opportunities:
 
Library Attendant
Assist the library staff, help patrons, and complete other tasks as assigned. Flexible hours and a pleasant work environment. Training is available. Come join in the fun. Contact the Librarian at 515-276-0287 to schedule your hours.
 
Publication Submission Committee
Write articles for the IGS publications. Computer and writing skills helpful. If you have an idea for an upcoming article, please submit a one paragraph description of it to: Email IGS, Attn: Publication Committee.
 
All ideas will be reviewed by the editors and you will be contacted with the needed details regarding your article. Out of state members are encouraged to submit ideas.
 
Scanners
Using the IGS scanners to scan funeral and bible records, family files, and other material in our collection. Flexible hours and training available, computer knowledge helpful. Contact IGS at 515-276-0287.
