Saturday, August 7, 2010 The IGS is pleased to offer a special full-day conference, "Researching Your Irish Roots," 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Topics include: Researching Catholic Church Records, Irish Migration Patterns, Using Land Valuation records, Irish Research Websites and Preparing for a Research Trip to Ireland. Registration is required.

 

Thursday, Aug 12 2010 for the Lives & Times presentation of Elijah's Story at 7 P.M. Hear the story of Aiddy Phomvisay's life in Laos, the conditions that led to his family's decision to emigrate, and the challenges of life in a new country and Iowa.

 

Sept 9, 2010 for the Lives & Times presentation of Dave Russell as he relates the story of his personal family history journey. Dave shares about family roots, European history and more discovered on a family trip to Switzerland, Germany & France.

 

Sept 18th, 2010 Introduction to German Research: "Research Your German Family Here and Across the Pond" ~ 10:30 A.M - 12:30 P.M. Preregistration required. $5 IGS members / $10 non-members.

Sept 23rd, 2010 Beginning Genealogy 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Free but reservations suggested.
